Lindenwood University-Belleville

Lindenwood University-Belleville heads into season number two knowing it has a future home in the perennially tough MSFA in 2015.  The Lynx will play this year and next as Independents before heading into the Midwest division of the MSFA.  This year promises a chance for LU-B to shine with an 11-game schedule that offers them an opportunity to reverse a couple 2012 losses and tackle some very sound programs.

Head Coach Jeff Fisher has a solid nucleus of returning starters that should improve with the year’s experience.  QB Kerry Gibson, a junior by way of FCS Southern Illinois, is poised to keep a handle on the reins and has RB Kameron Harris 5-11 205 to hand off to.  Though the offense lost Derrick Sherman, Harvey Binford returns to lead the receiving corp.  The O-line is still young but is good sized.

On defense, the Lynx will be led by DE Philepae Phillips 6-5 265, DT Joe Wiktorek 6-3 265, LB Adrian Williams 5-11 220 and Trey Parker 6’ 200 in the secondary.  Expect the points allowed average to drop from nearly 32 a game in 2012 as the team just held its first spring game and improvement was significant.  LU-B should be in contention for a winning mark this fall even with several NCAA D-II teams on the slate.
