Langston University

Also expected to be a main contender for the title is Langston.  The Lions finished 6-4 in 2012, losing to just one NAIA squad, #4 St Xavier.  This campaign shows the Lions butting heads once again with several schools from the D-I FCS level before heading into CSFL competition.  Coach Dwone Sanders takes over the top job after two years as d.c. where he produced the NAIA’s 3rd ranked defense in 2012.  He has 9 starters returning on that side of the ball including all-league players Isaiah Ross and Traey Sparks in the secondary and Earl Horton at LB.  Look for the Lions’ D to be the best in the CSFL again.  On offense, QB Jac’Quon Miles is expected to lead the attack with help from Will Taylor at RB.  Wide receivers Asphenn Gaines & Sheldon Augustine return and expectations are high for WR Shaquille Senegal a transfer from Idaho State.  If the offense progresses, this could be a dangerous team late in the season.
