Oklahoma Baptist

Coming back after a 73 year absence, the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist will kick-off the 2013 campaign hosting Southwestern of KS on August 31.  Spirits are running high in Shawnee and the coaching staff has assembled a ready group of players, eschewing the normal “club” season.  Head Coach Chris Jensen came from the high school ranks, but the 6A level in Oklahoma is big-time.  He built a new program at Southmore HS and took it to the state semi-finals in year two, so he knows how to meld things quickly on the football field.  The QB battle should be between soph transfer Cale Grauer and true freshman Blake Woodard, both listed at 6-2 205.  RB may become the domain of either Darryl Fields Jr. (SMU) or Chase Kruetzer (Ft Hayes State).  On defense, LB Cameron Shaw (UCO) and DL Kimes Gilbert (SWOS) have a chance to provide leadership as upperclassmen.  It will be interesting to see how quickly this group comes together as the talent level looks solid for the CSFL.
